Georgia Department of Education Superintendent Richard Woods visited Cairo this past Friday to attend The Stage Makers’ production of Grease. He told the students how much he enjoyed the show and encouraged them to continue in their pursuit of the arts programs available to them. He also stated that students on the stage were making memories that would last a lifetime and they should be proud of their achievements. Superintendent Woods is a huge supporter of the fine arts and has implemented various programs throughout the state that support fine arts education and achievement. Stage Makers Director Mrs. Austin Harrell, currently serves on the first ever Fine Arts Advisory Council through The Georgia Department of Education.
